Colorado College beats Michigan Tech 2-0

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- Colorado College goalie Josh Thorimbert made 34 saves as the Tigers closed out the regular season with a 2-0 Western Collegiate Hockey Association win over Michigan Tech on Saturday.

Gabe Guentzel and Jaden Schwartz scored second-period goals for Colorado College (18-14-2, 15-12-1), which earned the fifth seed and home ice advantage for the upcoming WCHA playoffs.

Thorimbert had 15 saves in the first period and 14 in the third.

Michigan Tech (14-18-4, 11-13-4) outshot the Tigers 34-22.

Kevin Genoe made 20 stops for the Huskies, including a high of 10 in the second period.

Michigan State finished the season 1-5-2.
