Dutton and Crush take Detroyers 50-47

DENVER (AP) -- The Colorado Crush spoiled the season debut of defending National Conference champion Columbus with a 50-47 win in Denver on Sunday.

John Dutton threw for six touchdowns. He completed 25 of 38 passes for 259 yards, with three TD throws to Ben Nelson and another three to Willie Quinnie. Both receivers had nine catches apiece.

But it was a 3-yard touchdown run by Jason Harmon with 3:27 remaining that provided the winning points for the Crush.

Columbus got within three points with 34 seconds remaining on Matt Nagy's third TD pass to Derek Lee. In all Nagy, threw for four scores and 225 yards.

Clay Rush had a 54-yard field goal for the Crush.
