Vehicle runs red light, hits school bus in eastern Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- No students were injured when a vehicle hit a school bus in eastern Colorado Springs Monday morning.

Police said the accident happened around 7 a.m. in the area of Pony Tracks Drive and Peterson Road. A vehicle driven by a 41-year-old woman was headed westbound on Pony Tracks when it ran a red light and hit a large school bus headed southbound on Peterson.

Police said none of the 16 children on the bus were injured.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital and later released.
