EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- The family of a 19-year-old girl who went missing almost six weeks ago will speak publicly for the first time since her disappearance.

Kara Nichols was last seen Oct. 9 in the Colorado Springs area and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

El Paso County Sheriff's deputies are calling her disappearance suspicious.

Deputies said those close to her thought she was going to Denver for employment purposes, but they haven't heard from her since.

Nichols had been in regular contact with family, friends and associates prior to her disappearance.

Deputies will hold a press conference  at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Kara's father Paul will address the media, and members of the Nichols family will be in attendance.

She is a 5'8" white woman who weighs 120 pounds with blond hair and green eyes.

Anyone who knows where she might be should call deputies at (719) 520-7227.
