COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- We are learning more about a Fort Carson soldier arrested last month for a series of crimes spanning two years.

Thirty one-year-old 1st Lt. Aaron G. Lucas was arrested October 23 for a series of sex offenses in Fountain, Colorado Springs and unincorporated El Paso County.

He is accused of exposing himself to, and trying to lure several pre-teen girls.

The Fountain Police Department said after they arrested Lucas they learned several additional agencies were also investigating him for similar crimes, including at least one alleged kidnapping.

"He is alleged to have done everything from having made obscene gestures to the victims in a public place, to attempting to lure them into his vehicle or another location, to exposing himself," Sgt. Scott Gilbertsen said. "

Sgt. Gilbertsen said Lucas is also accused of having physical contact with a juvenile.

He said the first incident in Fountain happened back in November 2011.

"We had two more occur in June of this year, and that is when we discovered the pattern," he said.

Then in September, a school resource officer with the Fountain P.D. spotted Lucas, who Sgt. Gilbertsen said matched the suspect description given by the numerous victims.

"We (Fountain P.D. and CSPD) quickly formed a task force with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, and the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office," he said.

After meeting, Sgt. Gilbertsen said the task force was able to put together a list of sex crimes possibly involving Lucas throughout the area.

Now, dating all the way back to June of 2010.

"We also learned that authorities in Alabama had also contacted him for a case they had," Gilbertsen said.

Lucas' military awards include the Bronze Star and Aghan Campaign Medal.

If you have any additional information about Lucas, you are asked to call your local law enforcement agency.
