COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- A former Colorado Springs police officer accused of inappropriately touching adolescent boys has reached a possible $9.4 million civil settlement with the families of children involved.

That's according to Joshua Carrier's lawyer, who made the statement in court Friday.

Carrier is accused of molesting 22 boys while serving as a volunteer wrestling coach at Mann Middle School. Carrier is being tried a second time.

Earlier this year, a jury convicted Joshua Carrier of 21 counts related to child pornography and acquitted him on 36 counts of inappropriately touching boys. It deadlocked on 150 more counts.

The Gazette reports that at least 15 families have sent notices of claim in the wake of Carrier's arrest. The notice is a required step before suing a governmental agency.
