AIR FORCE ACADEMY, COLO. -- An Air Force Academy Cadet died Friday, according to officials.

The Cadet, whose name is not being released until family is notified, was found unconscious and pronounced dead at a hospital Friday morning.

Academy officials haven't released any details about the death but said an investigation is underway.

"The Academy family is deeply saddened by the death of one of our own. Our heart-felt condolences go out to the family and friends of our cadet," said Lt. Gen. Mike Gould, Superintendent of the Air Force Academy. "Our Air Force family is grieving this loss, and we are committed to helping the family through this extremely difficult time."

The Academy is coordinating funeral arrangements with the Cadet's family.
