COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers said a man has died following a chase with authorities Wednesday morning.

Officers were looking for a man they said was armed and dangerous and had commited several robberies. When they found him near Byron Drive and Pikes Peak Avenue, he got into a truck and sped off.

As he was driving north on Murray Boulevard, he lost control of his truck, hopped a curb, went over a car, through a fence and crashed near La Cresta Estates.

The man died in the hospital. Officers will  not release his name until the coroner completes an autopsy.
