WALSENBURG, COLO. -- An inmate who escaped from jail last week was seen in Walsenburg Wednesday, putting the city in a code red alert.

Walsenburg Police officers said they are looking for Robel Rodriguez, who escaped from Costilla County Jail.

Officers put Huerfano School District RE-1 on lockdown and said schools can release students to parents only. No buses are running in or from Walsenburg, but buses to Walsenburg from Gardner are running normally.
