COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers found and arrested two wanted fugitives in the city Thursday afternoon within 90 minutes of each other.

Around 4:30 p.m., officers learned 20-year-old Robert Muniz was hiding in the Cedar Creek Club apartments. After talking to the person who lived in the apartment, they confirmed Muniz was inside.

Muniz initially refused to come out of the apartment but quickly surrendered after officers threatened him with a K-9.

He faces armed robbery charges and has a $25,000 bond.

About an hour and a half later, officers learned that another fugitive, 26-year-old Augustine Gallegos was in an apartment in the 2600 block of East Dale Street.

Officers demanded Gallegos to come out of a crawl space, but he did not reply. After a K-9 threat yielded nothing, officers released the dog, which quickly found him under a pile of clothes in a bedroom closet.

The dog bit Gallegos on the arm, and he was treated for his injuries before being arrested.
