EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- El Paso County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who approached a 12-year-old boy early Monday morning in the Security-Widefield area and showed a gun.
Deputies did not have a lot of information but said the boy was walking near Caballero and Grand Peak, which is off Fountain Mesa a few blocks north of Mesa Ridge Parkway, when a man came up to him and showed a gun.
The boy ran away and is okay.
Deputies did not know if it was a physical confrontation or just verbal, and they did not say whether or not the man threatened the boy with the gun or just showed it to him.
The suspect is a 6' white man, heavy set with a "pot belly and fat hands." He was wearing a white and brown plaid short-sleeve button down shirt and faded jeans. He is bald on top but has a ring of gray hair. He was driving a late 90s/early 2000s faded red two-door Pontiac with a license plate that starts with the number 6.
Deputies did not say where the boy was headed on his walk.
