AIR FORCE ACADEMY, COLO. -- The Air Force Academy is ranked as the tenth best college among ones chosen by students who have been accepted to multiple schools.
According to data released by Parchment for 2013, the Air Force Academy ranks #1 among military institutions and is also #1 in the Mountain West Conference.
Among the students selected for the survey who were accepted to the Academy, 51 percent attended. However, actual data released by the Academy shows that number was much higher, as about 81 percent of accepted students attended. Parchment's survey only included students who applied and were also accepted to other universities, while Air Force's data shows raw applicant numbers only for the Academy.
The acceptance rate for the Academy was, by gender, identical at 18.2 percent.
Parchment ranks a school based on a point system and awards a school points each time a student chooses that school over another in which he or she was accepted. The more school the student was accepted to, the more points the university where the students ends up attending gets.
Schools also get more points if they get a student who was choosing between the school and one ranked higher.
Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT and Princeton ranked 1-5 respectively.
