FREMONT COUNTY, COLO. -- The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will soon reopen state Highway 67.
Officials said the road will open Friday mornring between Florence and Wetmore.
It was closed July 31 after rainstorms heavily damaged a bridge, five miles north of Wetmore.
The final work on a two-lane detour around the bridge will be completed Thursday.
Until then, drivers should use U.S. 50 when heading north, and state Highway 96 when heading south.
CDOT officials said after the detour opens, they will begin taking bids from contractors to build a new bridge.
