COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers were able to track down a man accused of robbing three people consecutively in broad daylight Sunday.

Officers received the first robbery call around 2 p.m. in the 4100 block of Pikes Peak Avenue when someone said a man demanded money at gunpoint.

While investigating that robbery, another one happened in the 2800 block of Platte Avenue. Officers quickly determined the same man robbed both people.

During the second investigation, the man robbed a third person in the parking lot of the Safeway on Circle Drive. Officers quickly swarmed the area and began looking for the man.

An officer spotted the suspect, John Sabastian, and followed his car, cornering it in an alley south of Galley Road with other officers until he crashed into a fence.

Sabastian faces a number of felony charges after officers found items from all three robberies on him.
