PUEBLO, COLO. -- A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a truck following a high-speed chase with Colorado State troopers in Pueblo.
Troopers said the chase started Tuesday morning when a patrol plane measuring interstate tactics reported a speeding motorcycle on I-25.
Troopers said the rider, a 31-year-old Pueblo man, was northbound going more than 100 mph, then turned around and drove south on the interstate highway, near mile marker 114. He got off at mile marker 108, took Purcell Boulevard north to McCulloch Boulevard, then tried to pass a dump truck that was turning into a lot.
The man hit the truck near a Pueblo West public works station and died.
No one else was hurt in the crash.
Troopers said they pursued about a mile behind the rider, but the rider was monitored by aircraft. They have not released any other information.
