PUEBLO COUNTY, COLO. -- Sad news out of Pueblo, as law enforcement officials there said a child was hit and killed by a car Saturday night.

It happened just before 10:00 p.m. on Highway 50-C, just west of 20th Lane.

The Colorado State Patrol said an eight-year-old girl was running across the road when she was hit by a Pontiac Grand Prix.

The child was taken to the hosptial where she later died.

No additional details have been released.
