COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Officials will not file charges against a mother whose 3-year-old child fell out of a second story window Tuesday.

Colorado Springs Police officers said the kid fell through a screen from the second story bedroom of a home in the 400 block of South Murray Boulevard around 7:48 p.m.

Medical officials took the child to the hospital because he was bleeding from the head, though they said the injuries are not life-threatening.

Officers said no charges will be filed because the incident was accidental.
