Man killed in weekend bar shooting identified

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have released the name of a man who died after being shot at a bar early Saturday morning.
Officers said 23-year-old Kendrick James from Colorado Springs was killed by 26-year-old Dwight Gordon Jr. around 1 a.m. at the Golden Cue Bar in the 2700 block of Hancock Expressway near Academy Boulevard.
A friend drove James, a Fort Carson soldier, and Autumn Santos back to the Mountain Post gate after they were shot. The gate guard then called an ambulance.
James died at the hospital, and Santos was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Gordon has been charged with first degree murder in the city's 12th homicide of 2012.
