COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have released the name of the man found dead Wednesday afternoon in the city.

The Coroner said 50-year-old James Bidgood was killed. The homeless man's body was found in the 100 block of Metzer Place in a vacant lot by another homeless man as he was wandering in the area.

There was a makeshift campsite in the area as well. The Homeless Outreach Team said they recognized Bidgood from previous encounters.

Officers did not say how exactly Bidgood died, only that his death is the eleventh homicide in the city in 2012.
