STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- Wildlife officers had to ask firefighters to help them get a black bear out of a tree in Steamboat Springs after a tranquilizer shot couldn't get it to budge.
The black bear was tranquilized Wednesday so it could be relocated out of the city. The Steamboat Pilot & Today reports wildlife officers expected the bear would fall asleep and out of the tree after it was tranquilized, but instead the bear was stuck.
A firefighter on a ladder approached the bear, which eventually fell onto a tarp below.
