COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police are asking for the public's help identifying and locating a man believed to be responsible for three robberies, including two in which he used lighter fluid on employees.
The first robbery happened May 12 at the Family Dollar in the 20 block of North Spruce Street.
On Saturday, officers believe the same man robbed the Clariton Hotel in the 300 block of West Bijou Street. In that robbery, the man came into the lobby and demanded cash, then poured lighter fluid on the clerk.
Officers searched the area but couldn't find the man.
The next day, officers responded to the Coltrain Wine & Liquor in the 300 block of West Uintah Street after a man entered the store, sprayed employees with a strange fluid and demanded money.
There weren't any injuries in that attempted robbery, and the man didn't get away with any robberies.
In all of the robberies, witnesses said the man is in his 20s-40s and is about 5'10" - 6'1" with an average or heavy build.
Surveillance photos above show the man at each of the three locations.
