COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The intersection of Academy Boulevard and South Chelton Road was shut down early Tuesday morning as Colorado Springs Police officers investigated a body found in the road.

Authorities arrived at the scene around 6:30 a.m.

Officers said the person likely died after being hit by a car, but they aren't releasing further details at this time. There is no description of a suspect car.

All lanes are now open.
