COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A woman is still recovering in a hospital after a man allegedly strangled and assaulted her Monday night.
Colorado Springs Police officers arrested 23-year-old Andris Coats after officers forced entry into a home in the 1100 block of Verde Drive and found him on top of her.
Officers said they were forced to use stun guns on Coats to restrain him from the 23-year-old woman.
The woman was taken Memorial Hospital Central with facial lacerations, body contusions, a bite injury on her hand and strangulation injuries.
Coats will be charged with criminal attempt - second degree murder, second degree assault, menacing and child abuse.
