CASCADE, COLO. -- A 71-year-old woman from Cascade died Monday night when her car rolled off eastbound Highway 24 into a creek below.

Colorado State troopers said Hilda Correa was supposed to pick up a friend in Colorado Springs Monday night but was reported missing when she never showed up. Troopers retraced her route and found the overturned car after seeing tire tracks near the turnoff to Pikes Peak Highway.

Troopers said the coroner is recovering Correa's body, which is about 15 feet below the highway.

Troopers said they don't know what led to the crash but didn't see any evidence the car overcorrected. They said prescription drugs and fatigue may have been factors.

One lane of eastbound Highway 24 was closed Tuesday morning as crews worked to clear the scene and remove the body. The highway has since been reopened.
