EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office have released the names of two people found dead in a home earlier this week.

Authorities were called to the 9100 block of Chieftan Drive Tuesday evening in response to a shooting.

When deputies arrived on scene they found a man and woman dead inside the home and three children, all under the age of 10, waiting outside.

Thursday the El Paso County Coroner performed autopsies on the bodies and identified them as 29-year-old Jeffrey Lawrence and 27-year-old Tara Buckler, both of Colorado Springs.

Deputies  said the case was a murder-suicide and both suffered from a gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities said that it appeared Buckler was the victim of homicide, and Lawrence committed suicide.

The children were unhurt in the incident and are in the custody of a relative.

Authorities said the case does remain open at this time, but no further information has been released.
