PROWERS COUNTY, COLO. -- Colorado State troopers said a Florida man died in eastern Colorado Tuesday afternoon when he overcorrected after drifting off the highway.

According to troopers, 29-year-old Lance Brooks from Key West, Fla. overcorrected his 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck after drifting off the right side of Highway 385 near mile marker 102 in Prowers County around 4:50 p.m. Tuesday. The truck then swerved left, rotated, went off the left side of the road and rolled twice.

Brooks was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the truck. He was taken to Prowers Medical Center, where he died.
