COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Concerned citizens are being credited with helping save a family after their home caught fire Thursday night.

Colorado Springs Police officers said two people driving in the area of Jet Wing Drive noticed smoke billowing across the roadway.

They turned their car around and noticed flames coming from the roof of a home.

The concerned citizens jumped from their car and began to pound on the front door of the house to alert the residents.

The homeowners had no idea the roof was on fire.
