EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- Colorado State troopers said one person is dead after a two car crash near Peyton.

Officials said it happened around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

They said a Ford F150 and Honda SUV crashed near Elbert Road and Hopper Road, and the driver of the SUV died on scene.

Two others were taken to Memorial Central with unknown injuries.

No word on the cause of the crash at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
