EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- El Paso County Sheriff's deputies have released more details about a shooting from Saturday that left one person dead, including a voicemail the alleged shooter left for a detective.

Originally the Calhan, Colo. shooting was reported as a burglary that had turned into a shooting. Preliminary reports stated 48-year-old Mark Manyik shot and killed 55-year-old Robert Miles after Miles had broken into Manyik's home. However, court documents revealed Manyik and his girlfriend, 47-year-old Traci Adams, actually lured Miles to the house to be killed.

Detectives investigated and learned Miles and Adams had dated in the past, and Miles had threatened Adams after they broke up.  Manyik said he found footprints on his property that he thought were Miles' and said he was nervous about Miles hurting Adams.

According to deputies, Manyik called 911 to report the shooting shortly after it happened and told them he had shot Miles because he heard the front door open and knew Adams was in the shower.

Four witnesses from Miles' residence said they heard him talking on speakerphone with Adams and said they even heard Miles ask if he was being "set up."

Adams denied being in contact with Miles, but detectives pulled Adams' phone records and found she had made 16 calls to Miles on Saturday, the last of which happened right before the shooting.  Adams admitted they left the door unlocked, and she told Miles to "just walk in."

On Monday, a detective with the office told the detective on the Manyik case he received a voicemail on his phone from Manyik telling the detective he was going to shoot Miles in the belly with a shotgun. Manyik had left the message Friday (the day before the shooting), but the detective hadn't heard it until Monday. The El Paso County Coroner ruled the death a homicide, with the cause being a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Detectives interviewed Manyik and Adams again, and both admitted to luring Miles to the house. Adams told Miles Manyik wouldn't be home, but Manyik admitted he knew he was going to shoot Miles when Miles arrived.

Manyik and Adams took Miles' phone and disposed of it after the shooting.

On Monday Deputies arrested Manyik and Adams Monday for first degree murder, conspiracy to commit first degree murder, aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence.

Both are being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center without bond.
