PEYTON, COLO. -- A Peyton home is a total loss after firefighters weren't able to provide steady water to fight a fire that started in it Tuesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

Officials said the home caught fire around 12:34 p.m. Tuesday, which is when crews responded.  The home was completely in flames when they arrived, and they ran out of water at one point because there were no nearby fire hydrants.

The house is near the intersection of Cathy's Loop and Wileys Road, which is northeast of the intersection of Highway 94 and Curtis Road.

Crews brought their own water but still didn't have enough, which allowed the flames to spread, destroying the home.

Officials said nobody was inside the house at the time, and there were no injuries.

They continue to investigate what exactly caused the fire.
