Two injured in crash, N. Powers shut down

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Two people are hurt following a serious car crash on North Powers Boulevard near Old Ranch Road in Colorado Springs.

Officials said a pickup truck crashed into a pole around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Crews extricated two adult male passengers from the vehicle.

One passenger was airlifted from the scene in critical condition, the other was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

Officials believe speed and alcohol are both factors in the crash.

North Powers Boulevard was shut down for several hours Friday morning but has since reopened.

The crash damaged the signal poles near the intersection, and officials said those traffic signals are currently not working.
