COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- An elderly woman died in a crash in Colorado Springs Wednesday afternoon.

Colorado Springs Police officers received a call about a serious crash in the 2000 block of North Circle Drive in the city around 4:05 p.m. and found the woman dead at the scene.

The woman was in the right northbound lane when she made a sudden U-turn, crossing into the left northbound lane. A jeep driving in the left lane smashed into her driver's side door, killing her.

The driver of the jeep had minor injuries.

Officers said alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash, and they have not released any other information.
