DENVER (AP) -- A former nurse has been accused of stealing painkillers from a VA hospital.

Sharon Jones was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud. The indictment says she stole Oxycodone.

Jones was a licensed practical nurse at the VA hospital.

U.S. Attorney John Walsh says taking pain medicine from patients in pain is criminal and unconscionable.
