COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred at the Camelot Apartments near South Murray and Airport.

Officials said they received a call for a disturbance around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

At the scene, officers located a man armed with a handgun in the parking lot.

The suspect then ran into an apartment building, and officers attempted to follow him.

At some point, three officers at the scene all fired shots at the suspect.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital, and officials said he was still alive at the time of transport.

Authorities were unable to confirm if the suspect lives at the apartment complex.

Officials also said none of the officers were injured in the incident, and it was unknown if the suspect fired any shots at those officers.

The three officers will likely be placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, which is standard department policy when an officer is involved in a shooting incident.
