EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a crash that left a Colorado Springs man dead.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Walker Road near the intersection of Steppler Road in El Paso County.

Troopers said 23-year-old Jason Summerfield, was driving his motorcycle eastbound when the bike veered off the side of the road and rolled, colliding with the T-post of a barbed wire fence.

Summerfield was ejected from the bike before it crashed into two telephone junction boxes.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Summerfield was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Authorities said at this time, alcohol and drug use are not considered factors in the crash.
