COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It's a week full of fun for fairgoers looking to take in the sights, sounds and smells of the El Paso County Fair.

Foodie London Clarke knows what she wants when it comes to fair food.

"Always cotton candy, without a doubt cotton candy," Clarke said.

Food is the best part of the fair for Clarke and her family, and they've got tons of choices. There are 60 food vendors from fried to sweet, all working for your business, including the BBQ Pit Express that's been at the El Paso County Fair since 1985.

"We've got kids that come to us now that are 20 years old that I was serving corndogs to that were 4 years old," Carl Motley, BBQ Pit Express Owner, said.

A lot has changed for Motley and his wife over the past 26 years. They've switched their menu and only attend 15 fairs. That's less than half of what that they used to.

Margarita Chavez is just one of the 25,000 people that will walk the fairgrounds over the week-long event. She came for the funnel cake but spent the afternoon eating ice cream. Even though it's food you can pick up at the grocery store, she said there's something different about eating it at the fair.

Where else can you get a whole potato turned into a stack of curly fries or a bag the size of your arm filled with kettle corn?
