PUEBLO WEST, COLO. -- The driver of an off-road motorcycle died Friday morning from injuries he suffered during a Thursday crash.

Pueblo County Sheriff's deputies said 36-year-old Brian Abeyta was involved in a crash with a truck around 4:15 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Homer Drive and Tolstoi Drive in Pueblo West. Deputies did not provide details about the crash but said Abeyta and a 9-year-old girl, who was also on the motorcycle, were taken to Parkview Medical Center for treatment.

The girl was transferred to Denver Children's Hospital, where she continues to recover from her injuries.

Abeyta died Friday morning.

Neither he nor the girl were wearing helmets, and Abeyta's off-road motorcycle license had been revoked.

Deputies are not filing charges at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
