COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The bomb squad was called out to Colorado Springs Airport Tuesday after suspicious items were found in the trunk of a rental car.

An employee with Avis Rental found those items while cleaning out a returned vehicle.

Officials said the items resembled pipe bombs.

Bomb technicians evaluated the items and said they were safe.

Officials did not say what those items were.
