COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police are still looking for a 25-year-old woman who allegedly faces seven traffic violations after driving south in the northbound lanes of I-25 early Sunday morning.

Rachell Schurle allegedly began driving south in the northbound lanes around 3:22 a.m. Sunday. Police said when they found her, she was near the Tejon Street exit still going south between 40-90 mph.

Officers drove parallel to her in the southbound lanes with sirens on and lights flashing, but she continued to drive the wrong way. One officer even said as he drove past her, she looked right at him.

The officers stopped chasing Schurle near Circle Drive because she turned off her lights for about 30 seconds.

Police blocked off the northbound ramp onto I-25 from South Academy and said there were several near-crashes during the incident.

Between the South Academy Boulevard and Fountain Boulevard exits, Schurle allegedly made a u-turn and began drive north in the northbound lanes. At that point, police said she was driving the speed limit with moderate weaving. They did not stop her due to previous safety concerns but did an investigation to figure out it was indeed Schurle.

Schurle's parents told police she had moved out and refused to give officers her new address.

Schurle's violations include reckless driving, roadways laned for traffic and driving when lighted lamps required.

Anyone with information on Schurle's whereabouts is asked to contact police.
