COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A suspect on crutches who robbed a Colorado Springs bank on Monday has been arrested.

The robbery happened around noon at the Wells Fargo Bank on South Cascade downtown.

Investigators said the suspect, now identified as 49-year-old Danny Riley, threatened he had a handgun and demanded money.

He put an undisclosed amount of cash into his backpack and then took off on foot.

After receiving tips from the public, Colorado Springs police located Riley at a downtown motel where he was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators said they recovered evidence from the crime scene inside his room.

There have been 14 bank robberies in the city this year, 11 of which have now been closed with arrests.
