COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Master Sgt. Nancy Poffenbarger knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a singer. She also knows how to balance the important things in life.
Poffenbarger is a proud member of the U.S. Air Force, and has been singing in the Air Force Academy band for the past 15 years. In that time, she has sung for millions of troops all around the world, including troops stationed in the Middle East in 2009.
She is not afraid to sing anything, and will if you just ask. But she also defines herself as devoted mother. The multitalented singer now devotes her time to her kids and duties, while trying to make time for her musical interests.
Originally, Poffenbarger planned to attend X Factor auditions in Dallas in May, but she has since changed her plans. Her daughter will be graduating from middle school that week, and Poffenbarger said that celebrating her daughter's accomplishments means so much more to her.
She tells people that the key to balance is determining what's important in life and reminds others to be patient. The best things could still be yet to come.
