Robbery suspect in custody

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police have arrested a man suspected of robbing at least three convenience stores in the Colorado Springs area.

Around 8 p.m. on Saturday a man robbed Fillmore Liquors.

Officers recognized the suspect's description as matching a suspect in a string of other robberies in the area.

Detectives identified the man as 20-year-old Robert Williams and linked him to the Fillmore robbery as well as two other armed holdups, one at the Circle K on Chestnut Street, and the other at the Diamond Shamrock on Sinton Road.

Williams was tracked to an apartment in the 2900 Block of Sage Street, where he was arrested for felony theft.

Police are investigating to see if he may have been involved in other cases.
