COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police arrested a man after he rammed his pickup truck into a police squad car.

Authorities responded to the 1600 block of Tweed Street Sunday night on a call for a suspicious vehicle.

When officers arrived and attempted to approach the vehicle in a dimly-lit parking lot, the driver of the truck rammed into the back of one of the officer's cruisers.

The suspect then drove away.

Police pursued the vehicle.

The driver, 31-year-old Jason Aplin of Pueblo, got out of the truck in the 1400 block of Iowa Street and fled on foot.

Aplin was later found hiding in a nearby yard.

Investigators said the truck Aplin was driving was stolen.

Police charged Aplin with several felony crimes, including assault on a peace officer, vehicular eluding and vehicle theft.
