COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have had their hands full with bank robberies in 2011. On Tuesday morning, yet another bank was robbed in the city.
Officers are investigating a robbery at the ENT Federal Credit Union in the 2300 block of N. Wahsatch Avenue in the city.
Police have limited details but said the suspect is a white man who wore a black hoodie and scarf and had a black semi-automatic handgun. He is in his 20s and is about 5'8" with a thin to medium build.
He left the bank on foot, going north toward the alley, then east. Police did not say how much cash the man got away with.
Witnesses reported seeing a blue pickup truck with a white top prior to the robbery, but police are not sure if it is related.
This is the eleventh bank robbery in Colorado Springs this year. Police made arrests that cleared the first nine, including the arrests of two men responsible for seven of the nine in the city and one in Fountain.
The tenth robbery happened March 28 at American National Bank, and that suspect is still on the loose.
There were only nine bank robberies in the city in 2010.
