Alleged shooter at-large in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers are looking for a 27-year-old woman they said is responsible for the shooting that happened Saturday night in the city.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1400 block of North Hancock Avenue around 7:37 p.m. When officers arrived, they learned that a 34-year-old man had been shot in the chest and taken to Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the man is in critical condition but is improving.

Police are now looking for the alleged shooter, 27-year-old Crystal Espinoza. She is a Hispanic woman, about 5'5" and 160 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Police said she fled the scene and is currently at-large. They have obtained a warrant for her arrest on an attempted first degree murder charge and are asking anyone with information to contact them.

Officers said she is armed and dangerous and are asking people not to approach her if they see her.
