COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police said a 34-year-old man who was shot Saturday night was hit in the torso, and his injuries are considered life-threatening.

Police were called to a home in the 1400 block of North Hancock Avenue around 7:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, no one was at the scene, but a short time later Memorial Hospital reported a man had been admitted with a gunshot wound.

Police said their initial investigation revealed that a disturbance broke out during a gathering at the home, during which time shots were fired.

They said homicide detectives and the Metro Crime Lab are assisting with the investigation, and added no arrests have been made.

Colorado Springs Police are on the scene of a shooting at a home on Hancock Avenue near East Columbia Street in the city.

Officers were called to the area around 7:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

Police said when they arrived, no was was on scene, but added a short time later they learned a man had been taken to Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound.

They said a further investigation revealed a fight broke out during a barbecue at the home, which lead to the shooting.

No additional details have been released at this time.
