COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- While Packers fans are celebrating the franchise's fourth super bowl title, many fans are still talking about the botched national anthem before the game.
Following Glee's Lea Michele's rendition of "America the Beautiful," singer Christina Aguilera stepped up and promptly messed up the national anthem.
Aguilera was supposed to sing the line "O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming," but she instead repeated an earlier line with a slight variation.
Aguilera said after the game she flubbed the line after getting lost in the moment and losing her place, and added "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
FOX21 hit the streets of Colorado Springs to get local reaction to Aguilera's mistake.
"She does get paid a lot of money, so maybe she should know all the words, but you know everyone makes mistakes," Springs resident Jose Benavidez said.
"I am disappointed, I thought she would have known the whole thing, but I do not know what she was going through," Southern Colorado resident Zildjian Charley said.
"Maybe she was really nervous and maybe you stumble over words when you are nervous, but her voice sounded good, but I do not think she was unpatriotic," Springs resident Joe Brown said.
"I mean I realize all of us make mistakes, but then again she should have been more prepared," Springs resident Brittany Curtis said.
