EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department will be adding units to the roads Friday night and Saturday morning in preparation for drunk drivers on New Years.
Enforcement will be out through the early morning hours on New Year's Day to help keep the roads safe.
Designated Driver of Colorado Springs will drive you home in your car if you are drinking at their participating food and drink sponsors. The Yellow Cab service will also offer free rides home courtesy of McDivitt Law Firm if you tell the driver the ride is on them.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) High Visibility DUI Enforcement Grant is what is helping pay for the addition officers and deputies.
