EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- The Colorado Springs Business Journal said a coalition of 15 marijuana dispensary owners, growers and companies associated with the medical industry have filed suit against the El Paso County Commissioners.

The coalition is arguing that the question on the November ballot to ban medical marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated parts of El Paso County violates Colorado law.

The complaint filed by attorneys representing the coalition lists 10 separate causes of action. The main argument stems from the fact that because the county permitted these businesses, it cannot turn around ban them, or in this case give voters the option to ban them.

The commissioners made the decision to put the question on the ballot back in August after weeks of debate.
