DENVER, COOL. -- A wildfire that destroyed two homes in Colorado's northern foothills and drove at least 100 people out of their homes has been contained.

The fire west of Loveland was declared fully contained Thursday night.

It was the second major Colorado wildfire to break out in less than a week.

A federal team is handing management of the fire back to area agencies.

U.S. Sen... Mark Udall wants forestry experts to study a nearly 10-square-mile fire that destroyed at least 166 homes west of  Boulder.

He wants to know whether fire prevention efforts helped and if the nation's firefighting aircraft are adequate.

That fire started Sept. 6 and was contained earlier this week.

The blaze west of Loveland started Sunday.
